To this Blogger’s chagrin, he missed commemorating Marlene Dietrich’s birthday.
In this depressed and diminished age of hologram women, such as Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kamala Harris and Oprah, society has forgotten what power real women have, over society and men, both good and evil.
The holograms make a lot of money, and yield social and political power; but does anyone think that President Xi of Communist China, or President Putin of Russia or the theocrats of Iran or the Sunni fanatics of HAMAS are afraid of them, to the point of placing a bounty on their lives?
To the bad actors of the world, these modern icons exemplify the decadence, corruption and doom of modern American society. Why kill the termites when you want the house of America to cave in?
During World War II, that arguably most evil of men, Adolf Hitler, placed a bounty on the lives of two women: The Queen of England, later known as the Queen Mum and Marlene Dietrich.
He wanted both of them, not sent to concentration camps, or turned over to the SS, but KILLED.
He decided he had to kill them because they were women of steely purpose; Hitler would never kill our modern female icons; they are all potential "comfort women."
He hated the Queen Mum; because she would not desert London, during the most ferocious attacks of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) against London, the Blitz. He thought she was the backbone of the British Resistance, not Churchill.
In the most terrifying days of the Blitz, politicians and mothers begged her to leave London, with her children, or send her children away.
She replied in a manner; which steeled the British people and drove Hitler berserk: ' The children won't go without me. I won't leave the King. And the King will never leave. "'
Does any reasonable person think that the current crop of glorified, soulless iconic female holograms, would not run away, with their entourage intact?
Does any reasonable person think that Kamala Harris finagled herself to become Vice President to die, with honor, in the line of duty?
The other woman Hitler placed a bounty on, was Marlene Dietrich.
Perhaps for personal reasons, La Dietrich was the apex of German womanhood, a towering actress and singer. Both Hitler and Josef Goebbels, his Minister of Propaganda, had tried to seduce her. Hitler had ordered her to become his on-call mistress.
Instead, she defected to America and became an American citizen.
When American forces landed in Europe to liberate it from Nazi Germany, she went on tour to entertain the troops, specifically, the combat troops. She held her shows within miles of the front lines; Hitler sent assassination teams to mete out Hitlerite justice.
But they all failed.
As Readers of this Blog, this Blogger is a very late child. His eldest brother, 23 years his senior, fought in World War II, in Italy and France.
He told this tale of Ms. Dietrich; it may or may not be true, but the American combat troops in Southern France believed it.
After the shows, La Dietrich would retire to a private place, behind the stage, cordoned off by blankets.
There she would service, sexually, as many American troops as she could, as quickly as she could, a la Messalina.
Once, so the story goes, she was asked why she was either so accommodating or promiscuous, depending on your viewpoint.
She answered, as only a magnificent woman would.
“I owe it to the boys; to send them off to their deaths with the knowledge they had Dietrich before they died. I knew they would die better knowing that they had known me.”
It is not important, in the cosmology of the universe, or the history of the American fighting man that Dietrich servicing American troops was true or not. What was important, was that the American fighting man, seeing his friends die every day, BELIEVED THE TALE.
The American soldier went into combat, thinking that his brethren had tasted glories which Hitler had wanted, but had never known.
Dietrich believed sex with her body brought serenity to men about to be killed in combat. Narcissistic? Perhaps.
However, is there a greater purpose for sex than to comfort those about to die in cruel and messy ways.
Dietrich the Angel died at the age of 91.
Dietrich had many lovers, both male and female; she stated her best lover was….Brian Aherne ( see picture below).
La Dietrich wanted to move her ex-husband into the home she shared with Aherne; Aherne walked out.
