While standing peacefully in the aisle of a super market, this Blogger saw two Americans, of some affluence, tear each other’s throats out, over the last roll of toilet paper. This American danse macabre has effectively hollowed out the mystic chords of American sacrifice and victories. Audie Murphy killed 264 Nazis so that Americans could fight over hoarding toilet paper? Or the right to hoard toilet paper? O how the mighty have fallen, slain upon the low places of the toilet paper aisle. Our forbearers fought over land, rights, slavery, water, and liberty, but not toilet paper. They used the Sunday papers to cleanse themselves in various outhouses. As someone who has used an outhouse, there is nothing more satisfying than cleaning one’s anus with the Sunday editorial.
