One of the leitmotifs of 2024 American Liberalism, is its  propensity to wheel out, from the crypts of the forgotten, relics of the Obama Liberal Ascendency; to pontificate on the current state of the Republic. One of the problems with the modern    mindset of 2021, is that it conflates prognostication with advocacy. They are not the same thing; one can predict without advocating that prediction. This Blogger has predicted a Second American Civil War; he does not advocate a Second American Civil War. A Second Civil War would be a disaster; only proving that Abraham Lincoln was sui generis. In a Second American Civil War, the best which could be expected would be another Cromwell, or more likely a Sulla; the worst would be the most probable, a general who sticks the heads of his defeated enemies on pikes, on live streaming television.
