November 2017, the 100th ANNIVERSARY of the October 1917 Bolshevik Revolution in Russia

November 2017 is the 100 th  Anniversary of the RED OCTOBER 1917 Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. How can an event be commemorated in  November as the 100 th  Anniversary of an event which occurred in October? Czarist Russia used a Julian Calendar to mark the passing of the days, so events which occurred in October for Russians, happened in November for everyone else. March, 2017 is the 100 th Anniversary of the February  1917, Russian Revolution. How can an event in March be the 100 th Anniversary of an event which occurred in February? Czarist Russia used a Julian Calendar to mark the passing of the days, so events which occurred in February to Russians, happened in March for everyone else. Demonstrations against the Czar began on February 23, 1917(Russian time), in Petrograd(now St. Petersburg), the capital of Czarist Russia. The Czar, Nicholas II, was at the Front, commanding a losing Army, in person. His wife, Czarina Alexandra, was defacto in command in Petrograd. She did not think anything was amiss, how could it be? The Russian people had loved the Romanov Czars for  300 years( keep in mind that the Czarina Catherine I was Polish, and the Czarina Catherine II, Catherine the Great, was German).  Alexandra was also German, a handicap when one’s adopted nation is fighting a war of attrition with one’s birth nation.
