July 2, 1863, Josh Chamberlain's SWINGING GATE Saved the Union, atop Little Round Top

In the Civil War there were moments in time, when the South could  have won? Should have won? But didn't win  because of a combination of events beyond human planning, or  fluke, or karma or luck, or even good vibes. American history is weird; there are enough examples in it for you to come to the conclusion that  God's hand was at work. From the Divine Fog in the Revolutionary War, to the rainstorm which saved the White House in the War of 1812, to Josh Chamberlain being in command of the Union forces on Little Round Top, all point to the hand of the Almighty at work. Josh Chamberlain is arguably the greatest American war hero of all time;  Josh Chamberlain saved the Union, on the ground, in the trenches, in the blood and gore; Josh Chamberlain saved the Union. "In all, Chamberlain served in 20 battles and numerous skirmishes, was cited for bravery four times, had six horses shot from under him, and was wounded six times." He was wounded six times, and carried a

July 1, 1863, the First Day of the Battle of Gettysburg.......John Reynolds Dies, While Keeping the Confederacy From Winning

The Battle of Gettysburg was the greatest clash of arms on American soil, in American History. On the first day alone, July 1, 1863, Union forces lost 9,000 casualties; the Confederates lost 6,000 casualties, in one day, in the first day of battle. The Union forces were led by Maj. General George Meade, a steady, unimaginative,    and uninspiring general. He commanded one of the most resilient armies in history, the Army of the Potomac. The Confederate Army of Northern Virginia was commanded by one of the great generals in American arms, the hero of the Mexican-American War, General Robert E. Lee. It was an army fresh from the greatest feat of arms on American soil, the American Cannae, Chancellorsville, in which Lee had subdivided his inferior force into three parts and defeated the vast army of the North. General Lee, flushed with victory, had invaded the North, into Pennsylvania, on his way to Philadelphia or New York City; where there was a large pro-Southern community of Irish

Territoriality Fascism in Sweden, Italy, Germany and Greece will Come to Joe Biden's America

One of the few things which bring a consistent chuckle to this Blogger, in this Age of American Decline,    is how much love and compassion illegal aliens, undocumented workers, asylum seekers and refuges expect from the American government. American males, of a certain age, know better than to expect love or compassion from the government.    This Blogger’s first love note from his government was received two months after graduation from college; it was the GREETINGS letter, informing him to report to an ancient building, Whitehall, for his induction physical into the Military.   Brooklyn veterans had formed what would now be called a support group; the group invited inductees to come to a seminar to discuss the ins and outs of induction, Basic Training; how there were no compassionate sergeants, combat and what it was like to kill a man in combat.  Under a veneer of Athenian democracy, America was very Spartan. One, obviously tortured young man, stood up and said he did not think he
