While standing peacefully in the aisle of a super market, this Blogger saw two Americans, of some affluence, tear each other’s throats out, over the last roll of toilet paper. This American danse macabre has effectively hollowed out the mystic chords of American sacrifice and victories. Audie Murphy killed 264 Nazis so that Americans could fight over hoarding toilet paper? Or the right to hoard toilet paper? O how the mighty have fallen, slain upon the low places of the toilet paper aisle.
Our forbearers fought over land, rights, slavery, water, and liberty, but not toilet paper. They used the Sunday papers to cleanse themselves in various outhouses. As someone who has used an outhouse, there is nothing more satisfying than cleaning one’s anus with the Sunday editorial.
Our forbearers fought over land, rights, slavery, water, and liberty, but not toilet paper. They used the Sunday papers to cleanse themselves in various outhouses. As someone who has used an outhouse, there is nothing more satisfying than cleaning one’s anus with the Sunday editorial.
On that note, this Blogger has three reflections on the current, 2020 danse macabre, the coronavirus pandemic.
OUT OF THE BOX REFLECTION-
“Recovered from the coronavirus. Then they tested positive again. Why?
“After weeks of confinement to their apartments because one person in the building had tested positive for coronavirus, they were throwing a party to celebrate his recovery and their release.
It was Feb. 24, and Mr. Wang, a resident of Xuzhou, in Jiangsu province, appeared to have emerged victorious from a monthlong battle with the illness. Sixty-five residents of his building gathered downstairs to greet Wang with bouquets of pink flowers, a cake with a flamingo on it, and a red banner that read: “With strong neighborly feelings, we welcome you home.”
They pressed in close around him for a group photo that was captured in a local news video.
Three days later, though, Wang tested positive for the coronavirus again. He was re-hospitalized and his neighbors were locked down once more. His current condition is unknown.
Wang, whose full name has not been disclosed for privacy reasons, is one of more than 100 reported cases of Chinese patients who have been released from hospitals as survivors of the new coronavirus — only to test positive for it a second time in the bewildering math of this mysterious illness…LOS ANGELES TIMES.”
The public health apparatchiks of the Communist regime have theorized that those cases of recurring coronavirus were probably misdiagnosed initially.
This Blogger disagrees.
The Coronavirus is a man made pathogen, not organic; it is neither a natural evolution nor mutation of a virus, but a genetic based manufactured virus unleashed on the world by either sloppiness, incompetence, mistake or a pilot program.
Being a man made pathogen, that leaves open the possibility that the virus is recidivist in the host or addictive to the host.
Mankind has experience with man-made recidivist pathogens.
Both heroin and cocaine were invented by mankind.Heroin was first synthesized by Dr. Charles Romley Wright of London, England in 1876; it is a 19th Century, Victorian invention. It was supposed to be a non-addictive alternative to morphine.
The Cocaine alkaloid was first isolated in 1855 by the German chemist Friedrich Gaedcke. In 1859, Albert Niemann, a student in Germany, developed an improved purification process. Cocaine is a German concoction from Victorian times.
This Blogger suggests that perhaps it would be wise to devote a small amount of resources and attack coronavirus not as a biological virus, but as an addictive man-made viral concoction, a 21st Century version of cocaine and heroin.
WEIRD REFLECTION-
Reports have reached this Blogger from Italian citizens; they tell of a nation under lock-down, a prototypical martial law. The streets are empty of citizens but full of police, carabinieri and soldiers. It is defacto Stalinism.
“The Italian Civil Protection Agency reported the increase Friday, which raised the country's death toll from coronavirus to 1,266 people, according to The Associated Press. The spike in cases has shifted the focus on the outbreak from China to Europe.”
It is notable that the Media has been extraordinarily guarded about the ethnicity and ages of the coronavirus victims in Italy, save for publishing the names of an elderly married couple who died within two hours of each other, an Italian couple.
It is known that most of the deaths have occurred in Tuscany, and Milan, Northern Italy, prosperous Italy. The spike in coronavirus deaths has not occurred in Sardinia, in Sicily nor the South of Italy.
What does Tuscany and Milan have in abundance which makes those areas susceptible to a spike in coronavirus deaths?
CHINESE MIGRANTS.
“The first significant wave of Chinese immigrants arrived in the industrial zone around Prato, a city fifteen miles northwest of Florence, in the nineteen-nineties. Nearly all of them came from Wenzhou, a port city south of Shanghai. For the Chinese, the culture shock was more modest than one might have expected. “The Italians were friendly,” one early arrival remembered. “Like the Chinese, they called one another Uncle. They liked family.” In Tuscany, business life revolved around small, interconnected firms, just as it did in Wenzhou, a city so resolutely entrepreneurial that it had resisted Mao’s collectivization campaign. The Prato area was a hub for mills and workshops, some of which made clothes and leather goods for the great fashion houses. If you were willing to be paid off the books, and by the piece, Prato offered plenty of opportunities. Many Wenzhouans found jobs there. “The Italians, being canny, would subcontract out their work to the Chinese,” Don Giovanni Momigli, a priest whose parish, near Prato, included an early influx of Chinese, told me. “Then they were surprised when the Chinese began to do the work on their own.”

By the mid-nineties, Wenzhouans were setting up textile businesses in small garages, where they often also lived. Soon, they began renting empty workshops, paying with cash. The authorities didn’t ask too many questions. Prato’s business model was falling apart under the pressures of globalization. As it became harder for Italians to make a living in manufacturing, some of them welcomed the money that the Chinese workers brought into the local economy. If you could no longer be an artisan, you could still be a landlord.
Throughout the aughts, Chinese continued to show up in Tuscany. A non-stop flight was established between Wenzhou and Rome. Some migrants came with tourist visas and stayed on. Others paid smugglers huge fees, which they then had to work off, a form of indentured servitude that was enforced by the threat of violence. The long hours that the Chinese worked astonished many Italians, who were used to several weeks of paid vacation a year and five months of maternity leave. In 1989, the newspaper Corriere della Sera, using racist language still common among some Italians, published an article about a Chinese worker under the headline “yellow stakhanovite on the arno.”
While Florence was celebrated for its premium leatherwork, Prato was best known for the production of textiles. The Wenzhou workers tacked in a third direction. They imported cheap cloth from China and turned it into what is now called pronto moda, or “fast fashion”: polyester shirts, plasticky pants, insignia jackets. These items sold briskly to low-end retailers and in open-air markets throughout the world.
The Chinese firms gradually expanded their niche, making clothes for middle-tier brands, like Guess and American Eagle Outfitters. And in the past decade they have become manufacturers for Gucci, Prada, and other luxury-fashion houses, which use often inexpensive Chinese-immigrant labor to create accessories and expensive handbags that bear the coveted “Made in Italy” label. Many of them are then sold to prosperous consumers in Shanghai and Beijing.
More than ten per cent of Prato’s two hundred thousand legal residents are Chinese. According to Francesco Nannucci, the head of the police’s investigative unit in Prato, the city is also home to some ten thousand Chinese people who are there illegally. Prato is believed to have the second-largest Chinese population of any European city, after Paris, and it has the highest proportion of immigrants in Italy, including a large North African population….
Although it could be argued that the Chinese have revived Prato’s manufacturing industry, there has been a backlash against them. Native residents have accused Chinese immigrants of bringing crime, gang warfare, and garbage to the city. Chinese mill owners, they complain, ignore health laws and evade taxes; they use the schools and the hospitals without contributing money for them. …….
The strangest accusation was that the Chinese in Tuscany weren’t dying—or, at least, that they weren’t leaving any bodies behind. In 1991, the regional government began an investigation into why, during the previous twelve months, not a single Chinese death had been officially recorded in Prato or in two nearby towns. In 2005, the government was still mystified—that year, more than a thousand Chinese arrivals were registered, and only three deaths. Locals suspected that Chinese mobsters were disposing of corpses in exchange for passports, which they then sold to new arrivals, a scheme that took advantage of the native population’s apparent inability to tell any one Chinese person from another…..….new yorker.”
The weird reflection is this- the reason Italy is under lock-down is that the Chinese Migrants are finally dying, from coronavirus, with dead bodies to prove they are dying.
This Blogger would very much like to know if the majority of coronavirus deaths in Italy are Chinese Migrants.
ESOTERIC REFLECTION-
What would a MAXEY CHRONICLES' Reflection be without a half baked exercise plumbing the Psychology of God?
Why would God motivate the benighted Chinese Communists to develop a man-made pathogen which is causing so much turmoil and disruption?
What do we know about God?
He is mean, somewhat merciless and vengeful.
He took away King Saul’s anointment and throne because he showed mercy against orders; he allowed his only son to suffer agony to the point he cried out:“Oh Father(God) why have you forsaken me?’
He has a terrible vengeance on the German people since 1914 because a German philosopher got uppity and stated: “GOTT IST TOTT.”
He allowed the upstart Americans to square the circle of the Fatima Visions by bringing down the wicked Soviet Union.
God dislikes the vanity of Mankind the most, not its cruelty. We can see that from the Sinking of the TITANIC.
The following is from an interview given by Eva Hart, the last survivor of the TITANIC with a memory of the sinking.
"I saw that ship sink," she said in a 1993 interview. "I never closed my eyes. I didn't sleep at all. I saw it, I heard it, and nobody could possibly forget it."
There have been shipwrecks with greater loss of life before and after the Titanic, but none have clamped such a chilling grip on the popular imagination.
That is partly because the Titanic was on her maiden voyage carrying many prominent and wealthy passengers, but it is mainly because of a well-publicized exercise in hubris.
The White Star Line had proclaimed the Titanic the "unsinkable ship," a claim that caused Miss Hart's mother such apprehension that even as they walked up the gangplank, her daughter later recalled, she renewed her warning that calling a ship unsinkable was "flying in the face of God." She was so convinced of impending doom, her daughter later maintained, that she slept during the day and stayed awake in her cabin at night fully dressed….. Eva Hart”
What was the exercise in hubris which caused God to trigger the coronavirus?
We can all blame Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the ex-basketball player.
On September 27, 2017, in the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, he published the following exercise in hubris.
“Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Athletes and Entertainers "May Be Our Best Hope"
Athletes and Entertainers, that is a long way down from Cotton Mather, Roger Williams, William Penn, Daniel Morgan, Lewis and Clark, Tecumseh, Daniel Webster, Harriet Tubman, Chief Joseph, Elfego Baca, William Tecumseh Sherman, Upton Sinclair, Frances Perkins and Medgar Evers.
Thanks to the hubris of Abdul-Jabbar, Americans are fighting over toilet paper.
Aside from the dead, if we look at the macro picture, who has been most harmed by the coronavirus?
Athletes and Entertainers.
“A day after nearly every major sporting event in the United States had been suspended or canceled because of the coronavirus, it became a question of which sports were on, not which were off.
One of the biggest sporting events of the year, the Masters golf tournament, will be postponed, it was announced Friday.
The Boston Marathon will be rescheduled for September. The N.B.A., the N.H.L., M.L.S. and Major League Baseball suspended play. The N.C.A.A. canceled all of its championships, including the men’s basketball tournament, which supplies most of its annual budget.
Around Europe, more leagues shut down their seasons, joining Asia, which has been almost without sporting events for weeks. And looming over all the decisions was the Summer Olympics, still planned to begin as scheduled in Tokyo in late July, even as qualifying events were being canceled around the world…..NEW YORK TIMES.”
The coronavirus has taken away all the forums from which athletes will save us puny people.
‘Serena Williams is taking precautions against contracting the Coronavirus.
The tennis champ revealed on Instagram that she will be spending time with only her family, including husband Alexis Ohanian and 2-year-old daughter Olympia.
"Spending the next 6 weeks in solitude. Being a wife. Being a mom. Cooking. Cleaning. Spring cleaning. Face mask. Makeup tutorials. I'll let you know how it goes.... stay safe everyone. This is serious," she wrote alongside a short video showing her getting her makeup done.”….AP.”
One of Abdul Jabbar’s best hopes is doing spring cleaning. The will of God?
As for Entertainers; Superstar Tom Hanks has the coronavirus; Broadway is shut down; live television shows perform before NO AUDIENCES, DISNEYLAND is shut down; major movies delay their openings.
“NEW YORK (AP) — The entertainment industry prepared Thursday for an unprecedented shutdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus, canceling upcoming movies, suspending all Broadway performances and scuttling concert tours until it's safe to welcome crowds back.
To accommodate calls for social distancing, Hollywood moved to pause the normal hum of TV productions and the bustle of red-carpet movie premieres. After New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo banned gatherings of more than 500 people, Broadway theaters announced that they would close immediately and remain dark through April 12. The Tribeca Film Festival was called off too.The closures amount to a nearly complete halting of the industry, from Lincoln Center to Disneyland, and the largest-scale shutdown of many of the country's major arteries of culture.
The Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center, the New York Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, the Apollo Theater and the Kennedy Center in Washington all canceled events through March 31. Live Nation Entertainment and AEG Presents, the world's largest live-entertainment companies, suspended all current tours through March, including those of Billie Eilish, the Strokes and Post Malone.
The dawning awareness of the virus' reach had already forced the cancellation or postponement of all major imminent events on the calendar, including the sprawling South by Southwest conference and festival in Austin, Texas; Hollywood's annual movie expo CinemaCon, in Las Vegas; this month's Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles; and the sunny California music festival Coachella, which was put off until October….….. Postponements have erased much of the upcoming movie release calendar….AP.”
One of the unfortunate facts of Mankind’s existence is that God listens and hears, then reacts.
Perhaps Mankind does not need to find a cure for coronavirus; it only needs for Abdul-Jabbar to retract his hubris.
How is that for an Esoteric Reflection?
