Joe Biden's America Descends into A CLOCKWORK ORANGE Society: The Arab Spring Slap and the Will Smith/Chris Rock OSCAR Slap

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE  was written by the great British writer, Anthony Burgess; it is set in the near future, in a dystopian society, awash with crime on every street.

The book comes from Burgess' wife being raped by American soldiers during World War II.

The British version has an upbeat ending; that upbeat ending was cut by the American editors; in America, the story ends on a dark note.

In response, Burgess cowrote the best screenplay, ever, about the Christ, JESUS OF NAZARETH.

Omnipresent empirical evidence confirms that Joe Biden's America is awash with street crime on a CLOCKWORK ORANGE scale. High school students and senior citizens, mothers and veterans  are afraid to walk the streets; families are being murdered in their homes, whole families including children and dogs.

Seemingly, the only thing which deters carjackers is the inability of modern carjackers to drive manual shifts.

When a culture is functioning in proper order, criminals are afraid of the public; when the culture, the society, the civilization is in decline, as Joe Biden's America is; the public is afraid of the criminal.

That is the equation of civilization; the public is afraid of the criminal; or the criminal is afraid of the public.

There have been tines in American History in which the public has been terrified of the  criminal.  

Those times were ended by American Vigilantism, the San Francisco Committee of Vigilance, the lynching of the Reno Brothers in Indiana, the lynching of Killer Jim Miller. 

Once the criminal mind, or more correctly, the criminal spirit, comes to the belief that there are no consequences for their behavior; they grow unafraid of society, and society's civil norms, which protect the people. No criminal spirit has ever been afraid of the law, or sociology; criminals are afraid of social norms, enforced by the will to do  counter violence.

No criminal is afraid of a society which elected Joe Biden President, a man incapable of defending the borders of his people.

Slaps have had a profound impact on recent history; sometimes beneficial benefits have sprung from a slap; other times, social  entropy has grown full blown from a slap.

It depends on whether the slap is good or bad.

THE BAD SLAP WHICH CAUSED GOOD

The Arab Spring, that series of rebellions and revolutions which toppled Arab authoritarian regimes, or led to ravenous civil wars, began when a female police office humbled, then humiliated, a male Tunisian fruit vender, by slapping him in public; because he did not have a current license to sell fruit in public.

The fruit vendor promptly  found some petrol and set himself ablaze, self-immolation.

The slap and the ensuing self-immolation were seminal events; it set the course of social change.

THE BAD SLAP WHICH STILL RESONATES-

When this Blogger first reflected on actor Will Smith, slapping comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards ceremony; he dismissed it, as a reflection of an over grown Manchild, in the Promised Land of Babylon.

That reflection needs a reappraisal.

That slap was a crucial  event in the decay of American civility and the rise of American anarchistic crime.

The slap was crucial; for it triggered the seminal event, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE society in America.

Will Smith got away with brutalizing and humiliating Chris Rock in public. Chris Rock did not fight back against the larger, brutish bully; nor did any Academy security guards rush to escort Will Smith out of the building.  Instead, Smith sauntered back to his  seat and loudly cursed Rock in the name of redeeming the sanctity of his wife, the Black  anti-Mother Theresa of Hollywood.

Later that night, Smith won the OSCAR for Best Actor; strolled to the stage and accepted the accolades of an applauding audience. An audience which had just seen him bully a man half his size.

Leslie Jones, in her new memoir, states that Rock felt humiliated and went into therapy. What caused the Rock humiliation? The slap per se? Or the audience applauding his abuser?

The audience’s reaction was the self-immolation of America’s civil code of conduct, or American decorum, of American social values.

Since that slap, and the audience's lack of judgment, America has experienced a tsunami of crime by people; who believe that they are immune to punishment, or social disgrace, for their criminal actions.

In Philadelphia, an influencer who calls herself, MEATBALL, went on social media, to record herself looting stores in downtown Philadelphia; and encouraging others to loot.

She was shocked when the cops came to arrest her; obviously she had been waiting for the audience to stand up and applaud her for looting.

Two teenagers ran down a retired person bicycling in Las Vegas; and recorded it. When arrested, they expressed the belief they would be released in 24 hours. To a  standing ovation.

Since the slap, and the audience’s indulgent forgiveness, a six-year-old kid shot his teacher in Virginia, with his mother’s gun.

When confronted, the kid shooter proclaimed:” I did it.”

The kid shooter was waiting for his applause.

A store clerk in El Sobrante is not only robbed; but set on fire by his mugging robbers, waiting for their Will Smith accolades from an adoring, fire loving audience.

There is criminality in most humans; what keeps the criminality in check, is fear of punishment, in this life or the next.

The audience’s  reaction to the Will Smith slap, removed the fear of social punishment from potential American criminals.

America is in this current swamp, bog, tar pit, cesspool, quick sand and maelstrom of senseless, brutal crime because Will Smith’s unpunished slap canonized crime without punishment; and placed it firmly in the zeitgeist of America, as it continues its entropic social decline.
