A Foreign Policy based on empathetic RELATIONSHIPS, not the enhancement of the Republic’s interests, including survival, is dangerous, suicidal. The Harris/ Biden Foreign Policy, if they win power, will be based on their lunatic assumption that everyone in the world will like Uncle Joe Biden……that is an AFTERNOON SPECIAL FOREIGN POLICY. A policy doomed to catastrophic failure.
One of the major problems this Blogger has with Millennial American Liberals is their total, unequivocal devotion to the belief that Modernity is ex cathedra, and that the temporary fads, mores and peccadilloes of Modernity are everlasting.

As this Blog is being written, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is setting policy based on the ancient ways. He wants to resurrect the defunct Ottoman Empire, with himself as Caliph of a Sunni empire/theocracy. Or as the Prime Minister of Armenia stated in a recent interview:“Turkey has a clear objective of reinstating the Turkish empire'….Nikol Pashinyan.”
In his quest to revive the Ottoman Empire, President Erdogan has: established military bases in Somalia and Qatar; sent Turkish mercenaries to intervene in the Libyan Civil War; attacked Kurds in Syria; attacked Shiite Syrians in Syria; encouraged Azerbaijan with supplies and mercenaries to attack Christian Armenians in the Armenian enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh.“. A war has been going on since September 27th. The death toll can only be put as an estimate: at least 600 so far have been killed….FRANCE 24.”
He has bullied Christian Greece to concede energy reserves off of Greek islands; and he has reopened the civil war wounds on Cyprus between Christian Cypriots and Muslim Cypriots.“Authorities in breakaway northern Cyprus are to open the coastal section of the long-fenced-off disputed town of Varosha, a Turkish Cypriot leader announced Tuesday ahead of elections at the weekend.

The strategic enemy of Western Civilization is Sunni Salafists, and, after surviving the Streetcar Coup, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will become the natural leader of Sunni Salafists.
The modern Republic of Turkey was founded on the ashes of the Ottoman Empire by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk; He established a secular republic, with respect for women’s rights. He abolished the Sunni Caliphate. Since the establishment of the Kemalist Republic, the Turkish Military has been the guardian of secularism in Turkey, just as the Algerian Army is the guardian of secularism in Algeria, and the Egyptian Military is the guardian of secularism and religious pluralism in Egypt.

….The great threat to Western Civilization in the 21st Century is Sunni Islam, and with his suppression of the coup, Erdogan has become the Big Dog Sunni.
Because of Merkel’s incompetence, Erdogan, not Europe, controls the flow of Sunni migrants into Europe. Erdogan can flood Western Europe with Sunni migrants any time he pleases; and when he declares himself Caliph, they will be loyal to him and not the nations which gave them succor.
Since the rise of ISIS, Erdogan has been a tacit supporter of ISIS.
Why?
The answer is simple, President Erdogan did it to help support the Sunni Islamist Caliphate of Ibrahim aka ISIS, aka ISIL aka DAESH.
Why would Erdogan do that?
Because Erdogan is ideologically allied with ISIS; both he and ISIS believe in Sunni Caliphates. Erdogan does not really want to be president of a secular Turkey; he wants to be, first, a ruling Pasha in a revitalized Ottoman Empire, and finally a new Ottoman Caliph, a Sunni Caliph, and to do that he wants the Caliphate of Ibrahim to survive, until he can complete his orchestration of an Ottoman Caliphate to succeed the Arab Caliphate of Ibrahim. To the devotees of the concept of a Sunni Caliphate, Erdogan CANNOT be seen as a Sunni who undermined the first Sunni Caliphate in nearly 100 years, not if he wants their loyalty after ISIS collapses. Erdogan plays the long game.
To re-establish an Ottoman Caliphate, Erdogan would have opposition from: the United States, the European Union(Turkey wants to join) the Ottoman Osmanoğlu royal dynasty( they are still alive), Shiites, Russia, and Turkey Secularists aka Kemalists named after Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
Erdogan knows the United States, President Obama, will not oppose him stepping off the streetcar of democracy into theocracy; Erdogan is a master psychologist. Erdogan has sized Obama up as a Marginal Man, with a great affinity for the Muslim concept of Ummah, the Community in which there are no marginal men. Raised in Sunni Indonesia, and as a Marginal Man in America, Obama may well welcome the re-establishment of a worthy Sunni Caliphate; Erdogan knows that.
……As for opposition from the European Union to a Turkish Caliphate, the European Union is just one person, German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Erdogan has successfully neutered any future opposition from her by turning on the spigot of Syrian migrants to Europe. Erdogan has sent over 1 million Syrian/Afghan/Iraqi/African migrants into Europe from Turkish shores.
The Ottoman Osmanoğlu dynasty seized the Sunni Caliphate from Arabs in 1362; the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire was also the Caliph until the collapse of the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War I. The Osmanoğlu Caliphate survived until Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's secular Republic of Turkey, abolished it in 1924. Erdogan’s plan is to reinstall one of the many Ottoman Osmanoğlu still floating around the world(some live in the United States) as a resurrected Sultan, with himself as Caliph. Erdogan could never appoint his son Ahmet Burak Erdoğan as President of Turkey,(elections matter) or Sultan(the Erdogans are not Royal); but he could appoint his son as the inheritor of a new Ottoman Caliphate.
The resurrected Ottoman Caliphate is Erdogan dynastic politics writ large.
Who can believe that an Erdogan Caliphate is possible? American Liberals and the Globalized Elite of the European Union believe that Erdogan is not a megalomaniacal personality, and would never think in those terms; the Liberal Elitist leadership leading America, President Obama, Samantha Power, Hillary Clinton and the Sorority Sisters are small thinkers and are incapable of believing that men in the Middle East dream of Caliphates....

A Sunni Caliph Erdogan will have at his disposal a million man Turkish army, purged of pro-America secularists, and twelve million Sunni adherents in Western Europe.
With those logistics in place, Caliph Erdogan will move on Western Europe, reversing the Ottoman defeat before Vienna. And who will stop him? Merkel?....THE MAXEY CHRONICLES.
Why would Erdogan, who wants to be a Sunni Caliph support Azerbaijan, which is a Shiite Turkic nation? To destabilize Shiite Iran, removing Shiite Iran as an obstacle to a Sunni caliphate.
Shiite Iran understands that; which is why it is supporting Christian Armenia.

The 21stCentury will be a century of ancient ways back in full froth. Modernists like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the Democrats will be over matched.
The ancient ways can only be defeated by NEW THINKING; NATO should be reconfigured, as an alliance against Sunni Caliphates and migrants, not Russia.

On a personal level, President Erdogan may want to wash Joe Biden’s feet on a daily basis; but that relationship will not alter his ancient way raison d’être, his absolute lustful desire to be Caliph. It is Putin who will have to stop the would be Sunni Caliph.
