Stephen Hawking, brilliant mind, astrophysicist,
heir to Newton and Einstein, author of A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME, has died at 76.
In 1963, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic
Lateral Sclerosis, more commonly called ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. He
was given two years to live; he died 55 years later.
This Blogger owes much to Stephen Hawking; in
the late eighties, this Blogger happened to be, by fluke, East Germany,
Communist Germany. Outside of Magdeburg, this Blogger was pulled of the train
heading for Hanover by STASI agents( East German secret police). The STASI
agents rifled this Blogger’s belongings, and found the one book this Blogger was
carrying, A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME.
The astute STASI agent smiled and said: “I don’t the Americans would send someone
who reads Hawking to bother us.”
This Blogger was put on the next train to
Hanover, no worse for wear.
This Blogger was indeed reading A BREF HISTORY
IN TIME; reading it confirmed his religious faith; confirmed that the modern way
to the God of the Old Testament is through astrophysics.
On November 19, 2017, this Blogger published: Latest
from CERN: The Universe Should Not Exist....Which Means God Exists.........................................
The following is excerpted from that Blog:
“…..
The astrophysicists at CERN just announced that the
Universe should not exist; therefore God does exist, for without God
anti-matter would have destroyed the Universe at Creation.
This Blogger became interested in astrophysics in the summer of 1988; he happened to be in West Berlin, and would have to get back to West Germany by taking a train through Communist East Germany. The Soviet Army had a massive concentration of troops at Magdeburg ( the hills were black with Soviet field tents) waiting to attack NATO across the Northern German Plain.
It was common knowledge that the STASI ( the Communist East
German Secret Police) would stop the train outside of Magdeburg to size up the
passengers. Under those circumstances, the choice of reading material would be
crucial; this Blogger could not be found reading either the Bible or the
Federalist Papers. Nor was it advisable to have any Marxist material, because
the Stalinist STASI might ask this Blogger a Marxist question, and since this
Blogger had learned his Marxism as a Trotskyite, a Trotskyite answer
could lead to bad results.
Therefore the right reading material had to be something
that smacked of atheism, (the STASI liked atheism) but in a popular way; this
Blogger picked A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME by the astrophysicist Stephen Hawking.
During the train trip across East Germany, this Blogger read
Hawking from cover-to-cover; that triggered his interest in astrophysics, and
initiated his counter-intuitive belief that astrophysics confirms the existence
of God.
This Blogger was accepting Hawking’s cosmology until
Hawking got to explaining the BIG BANG THEORY. His explanation of the BIG BANG
was no longer science but a belief system, involving cartoonish nanoseconds
(nanosecond (ns) is one billionth of a second).
Then Hawking started informing this Blogger that to
understand the BIG BANG, he, this Blogger, had to imagine there was a time
before time in which there was no time; then SOMETHING, out of NOWHERE,
spontaneously appeared. It was the size of a pin head, and out of NOTHING, it
appeared, to explode into the Big Bang, creating the Universe.
Hawking’s cosmology is that something
spontaneously appeared out of nothing...that to this Blogger was
Creationism by another name.
If a devotee of science must believe that something was
created out of nothing; then this Blogger has a right to say that process,
something out of nothing, was GOD'S work . If this Blogger has to believe
mumbo jumbo, he might as well believe mumbo jumbo for which St. Paul got
beheaded.
"It has been known since the late 1920s that
the universe is getting bigger. But it was thought that the expansion was
slowing. When in 1998 two independent studies reached the opposite conclusion,
cosmology was knocked head over heels.
Since then, 5,000 papers have been written to try
to explain (or explain away) this result. “That’s more than one a day,” marvels
Saul Perlmutter, of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, who led the
Supernova Cosmology Project—one of the studies that was responsible for
dropping the bombshell. …. that work earned Dr Perlmutter the Nobel prize for
physics, which he shared with Brian Schmidt and Adam Riess, who led the other
study, the High-Z Supernova Search.
…. In the early 1990s studies of the cosmic
microwave background (CMB), an all-pervading sea of microwaves which reveals
what the universe looked like when it was just 380,000 years old, showed that
the universe, then and now, was “flat”.
However big a triangle you draw on it—the corners
could be billions of light years apart—the angles in it would add up to 180°,
just as they do in a school exercise book.
That might not surprise people whose geometrical
endeavours have never gone beyond such books. But it surprised many physicists.
At some scales space is not at all flat: the power of Albert Einstein’s theory
of general relativity lies in its interpretation of gravity in terms of curved
space.
Cosmologists were quite prepared for it to be
curved at the grandest of scales, and intrigued to discover that it was not.
…Relativity says that for the universe to be flat,
it has to have a very particular density—which in relativity is a measure not
just of the mass contained in a certain volume, but also of the energy…..
….. A cosmological constant is the same no matter
where in the universe you look—an inherent, unchanging feature of the fabric of
creation, however much it expands, twists or ties itself in knots.
The cosmological constant is another thing first
dreamed up by Einstein. On realising that the equations of general relativity
allowed for the universe’s expansion (or, indeed, contraction), he added a
parameter describing just such a constant in order to keep it from doing
either…..
Quantum theory says that the seemingly empty vacuum
of space is, in fact, not empty at all. Instead it is constantly abuzz with
“virtual” particles flitting in and out of existence. The energy resulting from
all this buzzing—vacuum energy—should be a fixed feature of space—in other
words, a cosmological constant.
… in principle, it could also propel the universe’s
expansion. Thus vacuum energy and dark energy might be the same thing. But this
theoretical neatness runs into a practical problem. .... vacuum energy is not
vast enough to explain the universe.....Working out why vacuum energy is not so
vast has been a problem for physics ever since.
….Dr Perlmutter doubts the existence of God because
of science. Alas, no one will never find God in Science. The science of the
17th century is not the science of today; the science of the 18th century is
not the science of today;the science of the 19th century is not the science of
today; the science of the 20th century is not the science of today..... THE
ECONOMIST "
Nobel Laureate Perlmutter is wrong; Science can lead one
to God. The fact that astrophysicists cannot figure out the Universe, except in
science fiction, leads one to the conclusion, it is God behind the ongoing, and
continuing mystery. If there were no God, Mankind would know the mysteries of
the Universe by now.
Mankind has to be the entity to discover the secrets of
the Universe, for, because of GRBs, Life on Earth may be the OLDEST Life in the Universe, and consequently
Mankind the most intelligent life in the
Universe.
“….it may be the case that complex life on Earth is
just about as ancient as it is possible for complex life to be. And, since
complexity necessarily precedes intelligence, that might mean human beings
really are the first intelligent life forms to evolve in the Milky Way.
…. gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), the most energetic
phenomena yet discovered in the universe. No one is certain what causes them,
but the leading theories are a hypernova—the sudden collapse of a massive star
to form a black hole—or a collision between two neutron stars, the ultra-dense
remnants of supernovas (slightly less massive collapsed stars). ……….. THE
ECONOMIST”
The key cosmology of physics is quantum theory. As a layman,
this Blogger has been studying quantum theory since 2006; and after a decade he
can admit he understands barely a whisper or whimper of it. It is gobbledygook
on an operatic scale, much like the Old Testament, except the Old Testament has
a lot of sex.
“Quantum theory is the theoretical basis
of modern physics that explains the nature and behavior of matter and energy on
the atomic and subatomic level.”
All well and good except there is a reason that it is a
THEORY.
Supposedly light, the speed of light is the fastest thing in
the universe, according to Einstein. However, within the quantum theory there
is the worm of ENTANGLEMENT, forever interlocking the fates of subatomic
particles, regardless of their separation. So if a photon on one side of the
galaxy spins up, an instant later on the other side of the galaxy its twin
photon will spin down …..Suggesting that INFORMATION TRAVELS FASTER THAN LIGHT.
This was very upsetting to Einstein, because the suggestion
that information travels faster than light is a no-no in his special theory of
relativity.
He dismissed it as unworthy “spooky things”, and invented
the concept of hidden variables. Hidden variables are mystical science, much
like miracles; consider them miracles for physicists. Their sole purpose is to
find an explanation within the universal speed limit of light to explain the
speed of information traveling above the universal speed limit.
European physicists did a test which banned Einstein’s
hidden variables from the lexicon of physics. They proved mystical things are
indeed happening in the speed of information, unexplainable by any scientific
mumbo jumbo like hidden variables.
With Einstein disproved, what is left of quantum theory?'
CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear research, it
operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world at the
Swiss/French border.
It was CERN that discovered the Higgs Boson-the God
Particle.
Last month CERN came close to announcing the existence of
God, by announcing that the Universe should not exist.
“One of the great mysteries of modern physics
is why antimatter did not destroy the Universe at the beginning of time.
To explain it, physicists suppose there must
be some difference between matter and antimatter – apart from electric charge.
Whatever that difference is, it’s not in their magnetism, it seems.
Physicists at CERN in Switzerland have made
the most precise measurement ever of the magnetic moment of an anti-proton – a
number that measures how a particle reacts to magnetic force – and found it to
be exactly the same as that of the proton but with opposite sign.
“All of our observations find a complete
symmetry between matter and antimatter, which is why the universe should not
actually exist,” says Christian Smorra, a physicist at CERN’s Baryon–Antibaryon
Symmetry Experiment (BASE) collaboration.
“An asymmetry must exist here somewhere but we
simply do not understand where the difference is.”
Antimatter is notoriously unstable – any
contact with regular matter and it annihilates in a burst of pure energy that
is the most efficient reaction known to physics. That’s why it was chosen as
the fuel to power the starship Enterprise in Star Trek.
The standard model predicts the Big Bang should have
produced equal amounts of matter and antimatter – but that’s a combustive
mixture that would have annihilated itself, leaving nothing behind to make
galaxies or planets or people….cosmosmagazine.”
Readers, Science, Physics, astrophysicists, and cosmologists
are on the verge of proving the Universe, and Mankind SHOULD NOT EXIST.
But the Universe does exist.
What greater proof is there?
The Universe exists where and when it should not exist means
that God exists….THE MAXEY CHRONICLES.”
This
Blogger does not know if Stephen Hawking wanted this legacy, but his work paved the
way for astrophysicists to prove the existence of God.
