200 Years After Her Death, Why Jane Austen Endures

2017 is the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s Death; in commemoration, every intellectual magazine or/and review, every pseudo-intellectual rag, every faux intellectual blog is commenting on her. She was a recluse; she was as nuts as Emily Dickinson; she was a feminist; she was proto-feminist; she was anti-woman; she was a mouthpiece for the oppressive gentry; she was secretly married; she was poisoned. Jane Austen endures for one reason and one reason only; she is THE GREATEST WRITER in recorded history who believes in HAPPY ENDINGS. This Blogger is a big fan of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, with the caveat that if DARCY were not so phenomenally rich, ELIZABETH BENNET would not give him a second look. This Blogger’s favorite Austen novel is PERSUASION; who among us has not wanted to go back and revisit the true love they have rejected, waiting for something better, or despoiled, that true love waiting for something better? As long as Mankind needs to believe in HAPPY ENDINGS and SECO...

Is "Causal Determinism" in Physics Proof of a Calvinist God? Calvin, Hawking, Teilhard de Chardin and GRBs

The two most interesting recent theologians  have to be Billy Graham, who found God the old fashion way, in the desert around Joshua Tree, California, and  Father  Teilhard de Chardin. Teilhard de Chardin was a  French Jesuit priest, who was trained as a paleontologist and geologist.  In Science, he helped discover the the ancient Peking man. In theology, he developed the concept of OMEGA POINT, the maximum level of complexity and consciousness which he believed the universe was evolving. The Jesuit believed that the Universe was evolving toward a complete understand of God. He developed the concept of noosphere,  “ a postulated sphere or stage of evolutionary development dominated by consciousness, the mind, and interpersonal relationships . "   Billy Graham offered and offers the fun, the joy, the Amazing Grace  of believing in God, the fun which comes from spirituality.  The French Jesuit’s basic tenet was that the true purpose of s...

Palestinians Begin 2009 Gerry Maxey's Peace Program, Apply in Record Numbers for Israeli Citizenship

Abba Eban,  the brilliant Israeli diplomat, once offered up this devastating insight into   the Arab mind set: “ The Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity". Except perhaps now-“…… Palestinians in east Jerusalem are applying for Israeli citizenship in hopes of swapping their vulnerable status as mere city residents for the rights and ease of travel that come with an Israeli passport. The citizenship debate reflects the unsettled status of Jerusalem’s 330,000 Palestinians who make up 37% of the city’s population 50 years after Israel captured and annexed the eastern sector……asking for an Israeli passport still carries the stigma of implied acceptance of Israeli control, and only about 15,000 Palestinians have requested one since 2003; of those, fewer than 6,000 were reportedly approved……Israel’s 1967 annexation of east Jerusalem opposed by most of the world did not come with an offer of automatic citizenship for the tens of thousands of Palestinia...

The Existential Antebellum Differences between American Liberals and American Nationalists

The problem with 2017 America is quite simple, and very evident; the Liberal Elite, a subset of the Global Elite, did everything under Heaven and above Hell to create a multicultural society based on Diversity.  Alas for America and Western Civilization, Liberals are incapable of managing, administering or governing a multicultural society; multiculturalism to Liberals is a constant  atrophy  of the American culture, an endless hunt for exotic figures to exalt, above native born Americans. This Blogger does not believe that Diversity, in of itself, has any value added benefit to America; in fact this Blogger agrees with philosopher John Stuart Mill, who, in 1861, wrote that Diversity is corrosive to Democracy as a  viable institution.  In his tome, REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT, Mill argued “ free institutions are next to impossible in a country made up of different nationalities. .because the same incidents, the same acts, the same...
