As America cascades into societal decay, disruption and entropy; one can appreciate that one of the root causes of this accelerating societal decline, is that 2023 America cannot forgive the sins of misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, fatphobia or colorism; but 2023 America can forgive the deadly sin of incompetence.
America is 23% into what promises to be a fraught, dangerous and fearsome century; of Mass Migration, resurgent tribal hatreds, religious ferocity, lack of fresh water, drought, famine, nihilistic mass murder, gender wars, confused sexuality on a societal scale , wild fires, floods, climate change and super viruses being developed by Communist China in China and in a building, leased by Communist Chinese, in Reedley, California.
Everywhere an American looks, from Communist Chinese labs in Reedley, to Mass Migration in Texas, Chicago and New York, to hellish infernos in Maui, to Mass Murder in Uvalde, to rot in the Military, there are seminal challenges to the safety and security of the American people.
The prognosis of the American social order surviving this confluence of dangers is not good; because modern America is not equipped socially, psychologically, philosophically or instinctively to survive.
That's because the modern American social order is trying to function under the concept; that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) equals or is better than Competence. Alas, DEI and Competence are proving to be mutually exclusive concepts.
Modern America is madly working under the delusion that the magical incantations of DEI can replace competence; NOTHING CAN REPLACE COMPETENCE in the struggle for survival.
We know this from the titanic struggle of Hitler versus Stalin in World War II.
At the beginning of the war, Stalin’s Generals were all well versed in his ideological version of America’s current DEI canon, Stalinism. He placed their adherence to Stalinism above their competence; he almost lost the war.
Stalin altered his course, in order to survive; he began giving power to competent generals over ideologically pure generals. He won the war.
At the beginning of World War II, Hitler placed his faith in competent generals; but he wanted more ideologically pure generals; he retired competent generals for Nazi believers, the Aryan version of DEI….and lost the war.
DEI is an ideology; which leads to Incompetence.
All about America are examples of that.
MAUI
Captain Edward Smith was given the command of the TITANIC, even though he had never had an emergency at sea, never been ship wrecked, survived a sinking, or a bad storm. He had no experience in dangerous situations.
But what danger could there be in captaining a ship, which God himself could not sink?
Well, if your chosen captain speeds his ship through an ice field, with only two pairs of binoculars, that creates a lot of danger.
Herman Andaya was head of Maui’s Emergency Management Agency; he had NEVER had experience in an emergency before. However, he could spice his language with native Hawaiian; that is so Diverse and Inclusive. What danger could happen to Maui?
Lahaina had a population of 13,000 souls; with 80 air sirens to warn them of danger.
When the firestorm erupted, Mr. Andaya failed to activate the warning systems, the sirens, all 80 0f them.
Why?
“Herman claimed that the sirens were reserved for tsunami warnings, adding that Hawaiians would have typically sought higher ground had the sirens been set off. “Had we sounded the siren that night, we’re afraid that people would have gotten mauka [toward the mountains] and if that was the case, then they would have gone into the fire,” Herman reportedly said…..“I should also note that there are no sirens mauka, or on the mountainside, where the fire was spreading down. So even if we sounded the siren, we would not have saved those people out there on the mountainside,” he added.
However, Hawaii’s official government website claims wildfires are one of the disasters that the “all-hazard” could be used for….HINDUSTAN TIMES.”
This Blogger has been very close to a raging California wildfire; if alerted, one can smell it, and KNOW it is not a tsunami.
Andaya gave a disastrous press conference; claiming he had a right to be incompetent, because he knew the Hawaiian word, mauka.
His incompetence denied people a chance to live; the death toll could very well reach 1,000 souls.
DEI fanatics believed that knowing the word mauka, would make one competent in a life and death situation. It is that foolishness which endangers all souls in America. At his press conference, DEI supporters of Mr. Andaya gave off a distinct aura of support for Mr. Andaya; all seemed forgiven. All the burnt offerings that Mr. Andaya insured were transformed into a casual lesson in the Hawaiian language.
The site commander was a DEI Mexican American, Pete Arredondo. He looked so grande in his uniform; he personified what DEI representation was all about, a bald Emilio Fernandez.
Under his control were over 400 law enforcement officers. But he would not give the order to go in and save the children, even though 95% of the children being slaughtered were Mexican- Americans.
Arredondo was a coward; DEI had given Uvalde, a coward, to save its children. Then it was learned, that Pete was not only a coward but a liar.
He was fired for cause; but it seems DEI has saved his career.
“Even though he was fired for cause, Pete Arredondo, the Texas school district police chief terminated for his actions on the day of a schoolhouse massacre last year, won an appeal to remove a blemish from his discharge file, according to a state think tank that studied his case file.
The decision does not enable Arredondo to get his job in Uvalde back, but it clears his record in the event he seeks employment at another agency.
"The whole point of this … discharge system is to be a red flag for hiring agencies," said Luis Soberon, a policy adviser for think tank Texas 2036 who released the report Tuesday. "If that is the primary function of this system, it doesn't work very well."…ABCNEWS.”
DEI, any system, can only work if people take responsibility for their failures, inadequacies, flaws, mistakes or bad luck.
Captain Smith had the good grace to go down with his ship.
This Blogger is Old School; he remembers a time people with responsibility took responsibility, seriously.
This Blogger was sent to an advance class, in PS 210, a tough school on Rochester Avenue in Brooklyn.
The Principal was a caring man, a courtly gentleman, Mr. George Goldfarb. He had the misfortunate of having a coed raped in one of the stairwells, on his watch. A Grand Jury was convened; he was summoned before the Grand Jury, twice.
He took personal responsibility that one of his kids was violated on his watch.
He went home one day; went to the roof of his apartment building and jumped off.
They planted a tree on campus in his name.
Maybe DEI should think bigger than it has; DEI recipients should accept personal responsibility for failure; then, perhaps, both Mr. Andaya and Mr. Arredondo would follow Mr. Goldfarb’s example. This Blogger is sure, if they did that, the communities of Maui and Uvalde would plant a tree for each of them.
AMERICAN MILITARY
The American Military is a mess; under a DEI transgender head of readiness, it is not Ready.
Young people are not joining the Military; perhaps, because the DEI Military is not fully ready when a service member goes into harm’s way; but, also because he or she or them is also totally unsafe under DEI commanders on home bases.
“OKLAHOMA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA: Tinker Air Force Base officials reportedly confirmed that there have been 17 deaths in the area since spring of 2023, with some of the causes of death potentially being suicide.
While the news was first broken by military.com, the commander of the base, Col Abigail Ruscetta, confirmed the deaths of 17 people.
Ruscetta reportedly said that 11 uniformed and civilian airmen had died due to natural causes and accidents. However, the remaining six died due to some other causes and remain under investigation.
Colonel Abigail LW Ruscetta is the 72nd Air Base Wing Commander based in the Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, where she is the leader of almost 3,000 airmen. She is also responsible for a budget of $5.4B in resources and $311M in operations.
Ruscetta is also tasked with providing installation support for over 27,000 personnel assigned to the Headquarters Air Force Sustainment Center, Oklahoma City
"Each and every death, either by suicide or some other means, is a tragedy," Col. Ruscetta said. "Following each loss of life, leaders from the affected unit engaged with their people to acknowledge the loss of a valued teammate. We offered many avenues of support, including a network of helping agencies, mental health counselors, chaplains, and Military Family Readiness professionals."…KOKH”,
17 Dead under her watch, since the spring. She is either a rotten commander, or unlucky. And before DEI, no one wanted to serve under an unlucky commander.
Let us put the 17 dead in context; the deadliest battle, for Americans, in the 20 yearlong Afghan War was the “Battle of Kamdesh, a 2009 battle was, the bloodiest battle for U.S. forces. An assault by 300 Taliban fighters resulted in eight Americans killed..”
The Colonel should be relieved, without benefit of the doubt; for it happened on her watch. But, the DEI Colonel remains in command as her people drop dead all around her.
17 deaths, that is a cluster. It is either a mini-pandemic, or organized murder( a gang war for drug territory on the base) , or suicide as contagion.
Or, as this Blogger believes, this death cluster is a byproduct of DEI policies being forced on the American Military; DEI supporters in the Military are being culled by the traditionalists, i.e. the devotees of the Curtis LeMay cult (who was the real-life inspiration for Brig. GEN JACK RIPPER in the film, DR.STRANGELOVE).
To summate, America cannot forgive the sins of misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, fatphobia and colorism; but 2023 America can forgive the deadly sin of incompetence.
That is not a long-term plan for societal survival.
