Below is a picture of a runaway black hole, consuming everyone in its path. That Black Hole is irrational , nay unscientific, to the extreme, yet there it is, existing. This Blog is irrational to the extreme, yet here it is.
This Blogger received an email a few weeks ago; in which, the writer wanted to know if he could catalog his nutty beliefs in one Blog, before his demise. (who knows what she knows?).
Anything for a lady; but not in one Blog.
So we begin a series of Blogs on odd conclusions by Gerry Maxey.
AMERICA
The hand of God weighs heavy on the land; seen but not believed. Blame that on slavery and genocide -
America seems to be a Divine experiment by a strange, and demanding God. On one hand, He goes Zeus on the Republic, by divinely intervening to insure the survival of the Republic; as in the cases of the DIVINE FOG; which saved Washington’s Continental Army, by masking its retreat across the East River from infamous annihilation; by placing a Classics teacher in command of the Union troops on Little Round Top, during the Civil War battle of Gettysburg, a classics teacher who probably was the only man in the Union Army who had heard of the Swinging Gate; orchestrating the ironic joke of having the Confederate battlefield genius, Stonewall Jackson , slain by his own men; and insuring that the American pilots from American aircraft carriers, by minutes, found the Imperial Japanese carriers first, at the World War II battle of Midway.
One can make a plausible case that Mary Todd marrying Abe Lincoln rather than Judge Douglas was an act of divine intervention. For, she had had a vision that whomever she married would be President; and she picked gangly, ugly Abe Lincoln over a well to do Judge, with a future. That certainly is a manifestation of Divine Intervention.
WOE FOR SLAVERY-
This Blogger’s key objection to Hannah-Jones’ tome, 1619 PROJECT, is her cosmological naiveté. The 1619 PROJECT believes all the consequences of American Slavery were organic; au contraire; the consequences of American Slavery were Divine.
What nation in recorded History has fought a Civil War to end Slavery, but America? What nation in recorded History, has slaughtered 700,000 of its own people to end Slavery, but America?
The Civil War makes no rational sense outside of God making America pay for the sin of Slavery.
Lincoln, knew: when, in his Second Inaugural, he quoted MATTHEW 18:7: “woe unto the world because of offenses; for it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh.”
Lincoln knew: “If we shall suppose that American slavery is one of those offenses which, in the providence of God, must needs come, but which, having continued through His appointed time, He now wills to remove, and that He gives to both North and South this terrible war as the woe due to those by whom the offense came, shall we discern therein any departure from those divine attributes which the believers in a living God always ascribe to Him? Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago..... A. LINCOLN.”
It is more than greed, racism, bad luck and cotton which placed the woe of slavery on the souls of white Americans and the spirits of Black Americans. All evidence points to a divine experiment in Woe.
One can follow the psychology of God, up to the Civil War, as He intervenes to insure its inevitability.
Which brings us to the most evil man in American History, Eli Whitney Junior.
The Founding Fathers could make all those arcane and foolish compromises about Slavery, because every rational man , North and South, thought that Slavery would die of its own accord.
Slaveholders were losing money, because cotton was difficult to grow at a profit; growing it was to labor intense, to support taking care of old, non productive slaves.
It was, rightfully assumed, that slaveholders would allow slaves to become serfs and then peasants and then free men; rather than take care of a population of aging slaves on non profitable plantations.
Then.
Whitney, Massachusetts native, Yale graduate, invented the Cotton Gin.
Gin as in ENGINE, a machine which QUICKLY and EASILY SEPARATES COTTON FIBERS FROM THEIR SEEDS; enhancing productivity, making growing cotton, on a vast scale profitable, making slavery a cornerstone of American prosperity.
The fibers were processed into calico; the undamaged cotton used for textiles. The seeds used to manufacture cottonseed.
By 1860, Mississippi was the richest place in the world; the Qatar and Abu Dubai of its day.
The cotton gin produced so much wealth; it made slaves extremely valuable. Before the gin, cotton plantations were small; for their output did not justify the expense of keeping large numbers of slaves. The cotton gin made large plantations profitable; it made keeping large number of slaves to work the cotton fields inexpensive. The cotton gin produced the ability of slaveholders to grow cotton on a large plantations, by making the expense of carrying old slaves viable. The cotton gin made empires of slaves possible; for the cotton gin allowed the slave holder to farm vast acreages of land. The cotton gin insured that slavery would not die organically; setting the stage for the price of woe to be paid.
Which brings us to Henry Clay.
The smartest politician in America, from 1812 to 1852 was Henry Clay. He wanted to be President; if he had been President, he may have outwitted the Furies propelling the nation to Civil War.
He ran for the Presidency, a host of times, but was always defeated.
In 1840, his Whig Party offered him the Vice presidential slot, with an aged General, William Henry Harrison as the Presidential candidate. Clay turned it down.
Harrison died after one month in office; succeeded by pro-slavery John Tyler( who later served in the Confederate government).
Later, the Whigs offered Clay the vice presidential slot to another aging General, Zachary Taylor. One would rationally think, a brilliant man like Clay, would have learned his lesson and taken this second opportunity. He did not.
Taylor died in office, leaving the Presidency to an avowed racist, Fillmore.
This Blogger believes that clever Henry Clay, Lincoln’s hero, had better sense not to know that aging generals, in their sixties, were likely to die in office.
But Clay turned down the offers twice. Such wanton stupidity from the smartest man in America is Divine in this Blogger’s opinion.
General Winfield Scott, the hero of the Mexican War, was in command of the Union Army when the Civil War broke out; he was too fat to sit a horse. He recommended Robert E. Lee to take command.
Lee decided to go with his friends and leave the Union. If Lee had taken command of the Union Army, the war would have been over in nine months; but then America would not have paid its woe tax.
It is strange, the Southern slave holding elite did not trust Lee at the beginning of the war; they did not give him a command, merely a staff position. Only a raft of battlefield deaths to Confederate generals allowed him to rise to command of the Army of Northern Virginia. Once there, he made the North pay a terrible price, exacting God’s divine woe tax.
Lee and Lincoln never met. However, infatuated , perhaps intoxicated by alternative History, this Blogger has written that fateful meeting in his Civil War novel.
FOLLOWING LINCOLN-
General Sherman, plucked from an insane asylum to break the South’s will to fight, said of Lincoln that he was the most unique combination of greatness and goodness ever.
The men who died following Lincoln, knew they were doomed in his service; they also knew that if they did not rally to him, America would be a tawdry nation, all glitter and disposable ornaments.
Which makes it divinely ironic, that all their suffering, in paying the woe debt, resulted in the tawdry and fool’s gold glitter of the Biden Administration, a soulless concoction of soulless souls, an organized circus of Dead Souls.
REPARATIONS
This Blogger is totally opposed to Reparations to the descendants of slaves; the woe debt has been paid in blood, at Chickamauga, Shiloh, the Wilderness, the Devil’s Den, the Peach Orchard, the Wheat Field, the Bloody Lane and Andersonville.
Black progress can be accelerated by the reallocation of current resources; by following the Bangladeshi immigrant model of assimilation into American prosperity over the failed, guilt-ridden Swedish allocation of resources, which has failed in Sweden.
GENOCIDE-
America has not paid its woe tax for its genocide of Native Americans. But it is coming , unless America makes a massive investment in turning Native American reservations into Avalons, Xanadus, and Camelots. And give the Cherokee Nation, its tribal Representative to the House of Representatives; as promised in 1835. Take Ilhan Omar's seat away from her and give it to the Cherokee;, the Almighty would like that, a promise kept.
THE ODDEST CONCLUSION OF THIS RUNAWAY BLOG-
From 1619 to 1993, there is a proven track record of miracles ,being made to insure the survival of America. Since 1993, America has lacked proof of Divine intervention ; Divine goodwill has gone missing, has evaporated in America. In 2023, Gerry Maxey has reached the odd conclusion that America's greatest fear should be that the Almighty, who protected America during the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and World War II, no longer gives a damn about Joe Biden's America.
Or to present the conclusion in pop culture vernacular, Joe Biden's feminized America is SCARLETT O' HARA; the alpha male Jehovah is RHETT BUTLER and in 2023, He frankly does not give a damn about America.
