THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE MAXEY CHRONICLES-
Readers keep asking what is the mission statement of THE MAXEY CHRONICLES? Even though this Blogger has borrowed his mission statement from Carl Jung.
It seems many current denizens of this planet have not read Carl Jung, nor been introduced to him. To quote Robert Duvall in the film, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED: Jung was a very great thinker.
“In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order. Every civilized human being, whatever his conscious development, is still an archaic man at the deeper levels of his psyche. Just as the human body connects us with the mammals and displays numerous relics of earlier evolutionary stages going back to even the reptilian age, so the human psyche is likewise a product of evolution which, when followed up to its origins, show countless archaic traits.
A more or less superficial layer of the unconscious is undoubtedly personal. I call it the “personal unconscious.” But this personal layer rests upon a deeper layer, which does not derive from personal experience and is not a personal acquisition but is inborn. This deeper layer I call the “collective unconscious”. I have chosen the term “collective” because this part of the unconscious is not individual but universal; in contrast to the personal psyche, it has contents and modes of behaviour that are more or less the same everywhere and in all individuals…CARL JUNG.”
This Blogger has defined, over the years, Jung’s deeper layer as Jungian Blood Memory. This Blogger believes that the inherited collective unconscious is based on exclusivity and not inclusiveness; which is why this Blogger believes America’s attempt at a multicultural, diverse, polyglot democracy will end in failure, even bloody failure.
Which brings us to:
Emails asking about AMERICA’S NEXT CIVIL WAR-
The NEW YORK TIMES published an in depth, academic study of the chances of America stumbling into another Civil War.
The following is excerpted from that article: “Today many Americans would agree that our current politics pit two such forces against each other. As a result, our country faces crises of institutional legitimacy, of utterly polarized media sources, of transparent voter suppression, of irreconcilable public-policy debates over guns, abortion, climate change, public schools and attempts to control the conduct of elections. We have reason to wonder if the persistence of racism is a transhistorical ingredient of American politics. Justifiably, we fear vigilante, militia violence against the institutions and political leaders we depend on. We rightly worry about whether American democracy can withstand the current pressures placed upon it by the authoritarian tendencies that Trumpism has unleashed… THE NEW YORK TIMES.”
Those suppositions defy Jungian principles; the persistence of racism is not a peculiar transhistorical ingredient of American politics. It is the natural Jungian by product of Jungian collective unconsciousness: Hutu versus Tutsi, Crow versus Lakota, Zulu versus Xhosa, Kikuyu versus Luo, Israelite versus Moabite, Tamil versus Sinhalese. Mankind is who Mankind is, a divine descendants of reptiles.
Trumpism did not release the authoritarian tendencies in current America; Liberal governance did that. Trumpism is the natural, Jungian reaction to the vast hordes of illegal aliens sashaying across America’s Southern border. Native inhabitants do not join militia groups to impose climate change policies on their fellow citizens, well not yet.
Native citizens join militias to combat claim jumpers on their land, culture, water and history. Natïve citizens join militias ,because they are afraid of people who came uninvited; uninvited guests who enter the homeland to stay. People who do not belong on the land, claim jumpers.
The vigilante is the natural outgrowth of failure of Liberal governance to control hordes of illegal aliens; the natural reaction of a tribe being overwhelmed by vast numbers of self righteous and ungrateful illegals. In response, frightened natives will ALWAYS revert to warrior societies of vigilantism; see the Kiowas and their warrior society, the Koitsenko, the Cheyenne and their Dog Soldiers, the Lakota and their Strong Hearts.

HOLLYWOOD-
This Blogger has been asked by his Readers to name a BEST PICTURE for 2022; this Blogger did not name one, because Hollywood churned out a multitude of bad films. Obviously there is not a Jungian left in any decision making position in Hollywood.
TAR is a film starring the formidable Cate Blanchette, playing another upscale lesbian; just as she did in CAROL. Seemingly Ms. Blanchette has decided to spend her entire mid career portraying upscale lesbians. Alas, the film’s grosses were lackluster, to put it kindly; for if one has seen one mid-career lesbian performance by Ms. Blanchette, one has seen them all.
May this Blogger humbly suggest that Ms. Blanchette expand her Jungian horizons and star in a remake of THE CORN IS GREEN.
THE NEW YORK TIMES’ film critics raved about the sci-fi film, NOPE as the best of the year; this Blogger found it a sophomoric rip off of SIGNS. The sole purpose of the film was to convince audiences that Black British actor Daniele Kaluuya can sit a horse as well as American Black legend Woody Strode. He can’t.
Hollywood has had a horrific year in box office receipts and audience appreciation. One could reasonably ask: is there a Jungian reason for that?
YES.
By the Internet logs, 87 films and counting had, in 2022, Gay themes, which means Hollywood believes that there are more Gays and lesbians and Transgenders and queers in the world than left handed people.
Perhaps, Hollywood should release a film in which two left handed straight people fall in love, on a quest to find NED FLANDERS’ mythical shop, THE LEFTORIUM.
Hollywood is in trouble because it has lost its connection to Jungian deeper layers; it is in trouble because it has lost its connection to both the national and global collective unconscious. Remakes don't work by merely making them; one has to tap into the same collective unconscious which made the original such a potent force, worthy of remaking. Hollywood is losing money and fans because they have become so intoxicated with the exotic; they have lost all connection with the collective unconsciousness; the force, which drives the audience reactions to films.
The MAGNIFICENT SEVEN remake did not work, could not work, because the remake actors were incapable of capturing the masculine significance of James Coburn's efficient killing modus; Robert Vaughn's inability to capture all the flies; Charles Bronson instructing the children, that their fathers, the farmers, were the true heroes.
Hollywood is in trouble because it wastes it rare actors of talent; for example, they have an actor , a good actor, who is beloved, Brad Pitt; and they cast him in trash like BABYLON.
There is an obvious pathway for Pitt; remake Glenn Ford films from the 1950s.Pitt should have had the lead in the remake of 3:10 to YUMA rather than Russell Crowe.
Pitt would be wondrous in remakes of Glenn Ford’s THE VIOLENT MEN, JUBAL, THE COURTHIP OF EDDIES FATHER and GILDA.
Hollywood wasted Denzel Washington, save for his portrayal of MALCOLM X and GLORY. He gives off Jungian vibes of decency, and respect for the little man. He was handsome but not pretty boy handsome; he was the Black William Holden. Didn’t anyone in Hollywood see a young Denzel Washington a natural for the remake EXECUTIVE SUITE with Washington taking over the Holden’s role as defender of the working man against the accountants, crooks and bean counters?
THE AMERICAN MALE-
There have been sad emails concerning the state of the American male; he is in bad shape. The sad Jungian, reptilian state of American males is represented by adult film star, Ron Jeremy.
For those who don’t follow pornography, Ron Jeremy is a hideous looking figure of humanity; it was he that Eugene O’Neill had in mind when he wrote his play, THE HAIRY APE.
Mr. Jeremy has been an adult film star for a long time, eons in adult film life. He probably has made love to more women than Wilt Chamberlain (Chamberlain claimed 20,000 female bedmates). As a male adult star at the tip top of the industry, he could have and probably did dictate the execution, in real time, on film, of any fantasy he could conjure up.
If he wanted to make an adult film having sex with women, made up to be the alien women on STAR TREK, who pleasured CAPTAIN KIRK, it was his for the asking.
Jeremy was living the dream of every American male accountant; rather than paying for sex, he was being paid for sex.
Then, the ole Jungian deep layer rose up, from the reptilian.
“….the criminal case against porn legend Ron Jeremy, who a grand jury has indicted on more than 30 sexual assault charges involving 21 victims, reveal new details about the performer’s alleged history of using his celebrity persona to prey on women.
The charges, which date back as early as 1996, include 12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person, and one count each of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 or 15, sodomy by use of force, and assault with intent to commit rape. The alleged victims include a 19-year-old woman who claims Jeremy raped her during a photo shoot in the San Fernando Valley, a 26-year-old woman who alleges she was raped at a nightclub, and a woman who says Jeremy sexually assaulted her in his home. Jeremy pleaded not guilty last week and has denied all charges against him….rolling stone.com”.
Jeremy could have set up an adult film in which he was paid to rape an adult actress; but he didn’t.
Being paid for having unlimited sex was not enough for Jeremy; obviously, upon reading the alleged charges, Mr. Jeremy was preparing to be the leader of a religious cult.
The Jeremy situation leaves us with this conundrum: why can’t a male adult star, paid to have all the sex he wants, take his winnings and leave the table?
Greed, and greed is Jungian; perhaps the most Jungian of all the deep layers.
Let us enjoin ourselves to be anti greed in 2023.
