Damnatio Memoriae: Ellen Page becomes Elliott Page, From LOLA, Han Dynasty, Soviet Union, Joe Biden to Martina Navratilova
“Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world, except for Lola…THE KINKS”
This Blogger assumes that every member of a certain generation thought about the KINKS’ song, LOLA, when Canadian lesbian Munchkin, Ellen Page, announced she was now a trans male, Elliott Page.
Elliott soared to fame starring in self-righteous and pedantic Canadian films. What fascinated this Blogger was, in her announcement, an implied hierarchy of sexuality; the best form of femininity was lesbianism, and the highest form of lesbianism was trans. It was as if she achieved the nirvana of lesbianism by becoming trans.
“Juno” Oscar nominee and “The Umbrella Academy” star Elliot Page, formerly known as Ellen Page, has come out as transgender and non-binary in a heartfelt post published to his social media pages. “Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” the actor writes in an open letter. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.”
“I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey,” Page continues. “I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self. I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community. Thank you for your courage, your generosity and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place. I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society.”
By coming out as trans, Elliot Page has joined the ranks of transgender celebrities like Laverne Cox, Caitlyn Jenner, and Chaz Bono — the first three photos that appear after a Google search for “famous trans people.” Notably, only Bono is trans masculine in the group, and while he is a trailblazer who came out during a much different time, his story is lesser known by the young people who would most benefit from his example. As a trans masculine person, I wish I had grown up with a role model like Elliot Page, and I am so happy for all the kids who get to live in a world where he can, as he so eloquently wrote, “love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.”
There are many reasons why trans feminine identities have been more visible in the years that have seen a steady growth in trans media representation, which Time dubbed “The Transgender Tipping Point” in its historic 2014 Laverne Cox cover story.
Page has been a household name since his Oscar-nominated breakout performance in the indie hit “Juno,” and went on to achieve greater notoriety in “Inception” and several “X-Men” films. He is coming out in a highly public way after being a known entity for over a decade. This is undoubtedly the Caitlyn Jenner moment for trans masculine people, but it’s made all more impactful by Page’s thoughtfully nuanced words and informed queer politics.
…..Since coming out as queer in 2014, Page played queer roles in a number of projects including “Tales of the City,” “Freeheld,” and “My Days of Mercy.” Page was a producer on the latter two, and also produced the queer docuseries “Gaycation” and the documentary “There’s Something in the Water,” which highlights Canada’s history of environmental racism and injustices towards indigenous communities. In his statement, Page deftly centers the violence and discrimination facing the trans community, highlighting the murders of at least 40 trans people this year alone, most of them Black and Latinx women. In this way, Page is worlds apart from Jenner, embodying a radical queer politic in his work and life long before he came out.
While visibility of trans masculine people has lagged behind that of our trans feminine sisters, the last few years have seen the rise of actors Asia Kate Dillon (“Billions”), Theo Germaine (“The Politician”), Elliot Fletcher (“Shameless”) and Lachlan Watson (“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”). Still, the average cis moviegoer would be hard-pressed to rattle these names off. For years Bono was the most notable trans male celebrity, and not to knock his “Dancing With the Stars” moves, he is most known for — as RuPaul once put it — coming out of Cher’s vagina.
...In addition to centering Black and Latinx trans women, what is also remarkable about Page’s statement is the omission of any discussion of medical transition. Media and the world at large have been narrowly focused on trans bodies and transition for far too long, and Page’s coming out is a boon to trans folks like myself who choose not to medically transition. Many outlets mistakenly referred to Page as non-binary, though that particular label is nowhere in his statement. It will be interesting to see how the media covers Page as he continues his career, regardless of whether or not he chooses to alter his body.
As for Page’s acting career, Netflix announced he would continue to play the role of Vanya Hargreaves in its superhero series “The Umbrella Academy,” and that the character’s gender would not change. While some commentators say the role should be recast, they would be wise to consider the message that firing a trans person for coming out would send. Identity is complex, Page is a versatile actor, and progress is not black and white. Page should be afforded all of the nuance and leeway necessary to continue his career while being his most authentic self — and being the queer icon we so need right now……indiewire”
This Blogger was in Moscow, before the fall of Communism in the Soviet Union. He and Linda, desired to see some Muscovite night life. The concierge at the hotel arranged for a guide, an erudite fellow; he spoke perfect English, and was open about his membership in the Soviet secret police, KGB.
This Blogger was staying at the infamous Hotel Rossiya, on Red Square. “The Rossiya Hotel was a five-star international hotel ..... It remained the largest hotel in Europe until its 2006 closure.
The 21-story Rossiya had 3,000 rooms, 245 half suites, a post office, a health club, a nightclub, a movie theater, the Zaryadye, and a barber shop, a police station with jail cells behind unmarked black doors near the barber shop, and the 2500-seat State Central Concert Hall. The building could accommodate over 4,000 guests. Most of the rooms were 11 meter squares, covering 121 square metres (1,300 sq ft) The hotel was adjacent to Red Square...
On February 25, 1977, a major fire in the building killed 42 and injured 50. The high death and injury rate was exacerbated because the hotel had very few exits, a design intended to make it difficult for guests to enter or exit unseen by the hotel staff.”
Since Soviet automobiles were notorious deathtraps, this Blogger and his group decided to walk. A few blocks from the Kremlin( this Blogger cannot tell you on what street because there were no street signs in Moscow under the Communists, nor street addresses nor telephone directories…..no one ever knew where they were or whom to call).
On the unknown street, this Blogger and his group came upon seven men brutally and viciously beating two men. Linda asked the tour guide/KGB agent if he had a gun to stop the assaults. He replied that he had; but the men doing the beating were plain clothes policemen, so a crime was not happening, and besides, there was no crime in the Soviet Union. Crime had been abolished.
Then, spunky American girl that she was, Linda asked: "Why were the two men being beaten so brutally?
The KGB agent replied: “They are homosexuals, and homosexuals are banned in the Soviet Union.”
Linda replied: “Then I will stop it.”
The KGB agent turned to this Blogger and winked: “Ah, American women.”
The KGB agent then said something Russian, and the beating ended and the seven undercover cops withdrew, leaving the beaten men on the street bleeding.
The KGB agent spoke:” We had better move on….they will be safe, for tonight.”
This Blogger and his group moved on; the KGB agent decided to show us the hottest nightclub in Moscow.
It was a lesbian club; jammed pack with lesbians.
After a few vodkas, this Blogger, pricked by curiosity, asked the KGB agent: “Comrade, if homosexuality is illegal in the Soviet Union, why isn’t lesbianism?”
The KGB agent smirked: “Homosexuality is an abomination; lesbianism is an art form.”
If Ellen/Elliott Page had gone trans in the Soviet Union, she/he would have lost the protection of being a member of an art form.
Uncle Joe Biden has been very pro-trans; he appointed Dr. Rachel Levine (picture below) to be Assistant Secretary of Health.
Uncle Joe recently issued an Executive Order mandating schools to allow transgender athletes to play in women's sports and gender nonconforming students in high school athletics
Readers of this Blog, understand that this Blogger thinks that America, Western Civilization, in fact everything, is in decline, heading, in pall mall fashion, to a Global Bronze Age Collapse. This Blogger has been studying the decline and fall of the Han Dynasty in China. To the best of his knowledge, there were no trans people in Han China; however, there were eunuchs. Many eunuchs. One of the significant factors in the decline was an intramural civil war between the Emperor’s eunuchs and concubines/wives.
Iconic lesbian Martina Navratilova is leading the pushback against Uncle Joe’s trans policies as they relate to women sports.
“MANCHESTER, England (Reuters) - Tennis champion Martina Navratilova called on Wednesday for a special provision to be made for elite sport after U.S. President Joe Biden signed an executive order designed to allow equal transgender participation in school sports.
In an interview with BBC Radio 4, Navratilova proposed a "carve-out" - or separate provision - from the executive order signed on Jan. 20 to ensure a level playing field in elite women's sports.
The Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation is intended to enable transgender women who have gone through male puberty to compete in women's sports.
Navratilova, who won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, said she supported moves towards equality but that the physical advantages for transwomen competitors who had gone through male puberty were "pretty obvious".
She opposed "an all-inclusive situation where trans men and women, just based on their self-id, would be able to compete with no mitigation ... that clearly would not be a level playing field," she said.
Navratilova was among sportswomen who launched a group on Tuesday to work for a "science-based, ethical approach" to "establish a middle ground that both protects girls' and women's sport and accommodates transgender athletes".
The Women's Sports Policy Working Group wants a "carve-out for elite sports ... where there will be some rules as to what is possible and what is not, that are basically only based on biology and evidence and science," she said.
The Czech-born American added: "We are only talking about taking a carve out or a separate policy for elite sports or sports at the higher level of high school, college and pros."
Sharon McGowan, chief strategy officer of Lambda Legal, which works for LGBTQ (Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) civil rights, said Navratilova should not view trans-women's participation in women's sport as a danger.
"The kinds of proposals that unfortunately (Martina) and others have been promoting would really sweep way too far in terms of limiting the opportunity of transgender children being able to participate in a way that ensures fairness and opportunity," she said.
McGowan, who was at the Department of Justice during Barack Obama's presidency, said she was against separate events for trans athletes as it would mean "trans students who are already experiencing higher levels of stigmatization bullying are going to now be once again marked as separate and ‘othered’."…REUTERS”
This Blogger understands he grew up in the sheltered and backward society of a Brooklyn, dominated by Mafioso social mores. A Brooklyn in which any trans person would meet a fate worse than anything the KGB could have meted out. That said, the world seems to be in the midst of a cluster of trans. This Blogger does not believe such a large cluster could possibly be the singular result of social awareness.
Science based, we know two things: 1) the world is over populated and 2) the current iteration of homo sapiens may not be the last. Mankind is constantly evolving.
Science based, we know that when a population of any group or species is over populated, genetics are altered. Is this cluster of trans, nature’s reaction to Mankind’s over population?
And, because of climate change, societal stress, processed food, and/or plastics in the water, are today's trans people, a natural evolution in Human kind? Are trans people, the new human species which will inherit the Earth? Are cis people the new Neanderthals?
Is Elliott Page the new Cro-Magnon Man?
It is understandable that Elliott Page wants to be happy. We all want to wiggle our toes in happiness; yet this may not be the time for Happiness fulfilled. This time frame certainly is not La Belle Époque. Fate itself may be against us; for the omens, portents, presentiments and runes are foreboding. The entire human population seems to be living in a time presaging terrible events, mere hours before Wu Sangui opens the gates to the barbarians, months before Quetzalcóatl returns, mere years before a Chicxulub event.
All of mankind, regardless of skin color, religion, gender, or wealth, seems to innately understand, in a primeval Jungian manner, that Mankind is entering a Brave New World of eternal melancholy; knowing that all happiness achieved will be devoid of longevity.

“Elliot Page has filed for divorce from their wife Emma Portner, two months after publicly coming out as transgender.
According to court documents obtained by Page Six, the actor filed for divorce on Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court. In a joint statement, the former couple wrote, “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce following our separation last summer. We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends.” This news comes three years after the couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony, announcing the news via a photo of their wedding rings on Instagram in January 2018.
At the beginning of December, Page came out as trans on social media, announcing that his pronouns are he/they and his name is Elliot. …
Portner, who is a professional dancer and choreographer, was equally supportive of the news, effusing on their own Instagram page, “Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world. I also ask for patience & privacy but that you join me in the fervent support of trans life every single day. Elliot’s existence is a gift in and of itself. Shine on sweet E. Love you so much.”…VANITY FAIR.”
