One of the problems with the modern mindset of 2021, is that it conflates prognostication with advocacy. They are not the same thing; one can predict without advocating that prediction. This Blogger has predicted a Second American Civil War; he does not advocate a Second American Civil War. A Second Civil War would be a disaster; only proving that Abraham Lincoln was sui generis. In a Second American Civil War, the best which could be expected would be another Cromwell, or more likely a Sulla; the worst would be the most probable, a general who sticks the heads of his defeated enemies on pikes, on live streaming television. Take that Paddy Chayefsky (see the film, NETWORK). Proscriptions were invented by Sulla. He was a very competent General; notorious for being the first General to hurl the Roman Army against the Roman Republic.
