Inquiry Finds Pedophilia Endemic in French Catholic Church;, Pope Francis Should Heed Jean Genet and Henry II

An inquiry into pedophilia in the French Catholic Church since 1950, has revealed that perhaps over 330,000 French youngsters, mostly boys, have been sexually assaulted, sexually exploited and sexually abused by the clergy and  laymen of the French Catholic Church.   

The inquiry found that the French Catholic Church employed perhaps as many as 3,200 sexual abusers; the abuse was systemic. 

 

Perhaps it is time to pay attention to the ravings of Jean Genet. Genet was a French homosexual, male prostitute, pimp, criminal, convict,  and world class writer/playwright. He was  obsessed with the Roman Catholic Church. 

 

He had a granular solution to pedophilia in the French Catholic Church; which this Blogger discussed in 2018, and has reprinted in this Blog. 

The following is excerpted from an article about the inquiry.

 

”Some 216,000 children - mostly boys - have been sexually abused by clergy in the French Catholic Church since 1950, a damning new inquiry has found. 

 

The head of the inquiry said there were at least 2,900-3,200 abusers, and accused the Church of showing a "cruel indifference towards the victims". 

Pope Francis "felt pain" on hearing about the inquiry's finding, a Vatican statement said. 

 

One of those abused said it was time the Church reassessed its actions. 

François Devaux, who is also the founder of the victims' association La Parole Libérée (Freed speech), said there had been a "betrayal of trust, betrayal of morale, betrayal of children". 

 

The inquiry found the number of children abused in France could rise to 330,000, when taking into account abuses committed by lay members of the Church, such as teachers at Catholic schools. 

 

…..According to the Vatican statement, the Pope learnt about the report after he met visiting French bishops in the last few days. 

 

"His first thoughts are for the victims, with a deep sadness for their wounds and gratitude for their courage in coming forward," it read. 

 

"His thoughts also turn to the Church in France, and that, in recognising these terrible events and united by the suffering of the Lord for his most vulnerable children, it can take the path of redemption." 

 

……..The report, which is nearly 2,500 pages long, said the "vast majority" of victims were boys, many of them aged between 10 and 13. 

 

It said the Church had not only failed to prevent abuse but had also failed to report it, at times knowingly putting children in contact with predators. 

 

……."The victims are not believed, are not listened to. When they are listened to, they are considered to have perhaps contributed to what they had happen to them," he explained. 

He added that sexual abuse within the Catholic Church continued to be a problem. 

 

While the commission found evidence of as many as 3,200 abusers - out of a total of 115,000 priests and other clerics - it said this was probably an underestimation. 

 

"The Catholic Church is, after the circle of family and friends, the environment that has the highest prevalence of sexual violence," the report said. 

 

….The inquiry found that about 60% of the men and women who were abused had gone on to "encounter major problems in their emotional or sexual lives". 

 

……..The burden of the report is that ad-hoc expressions of repentance and a bit of tinkering with ecclesiastical structures are no longer good enough. 

 

There has to be recognition that sexual abuse of youngsters by priests was systematic. It was the Church - not rogue individuals - that was responsible. 

 

…..It also made a series of recommendations about how to prevent abuse, including training priests and other clerics, and fostering policies to recognise victims…..BBC.” 

 

Since 1950.......that means, that while a generation of French young men was engaged in some of the bitterest hand-to-hand combat in the history of mankind, in the jungles of Vietnam and the casbahs of Algeria, French priests, rather than praying for the safe return of France's young men from war, were busy  sodomizing,on altars, and in chancels , French boys in their trust. Perhaps, more prayer and less pederasty could have brought more French soldiers back from the wars, alive and unmaimed, just perhaps.

In response to this pandemic of sexual abuse visited on”the little ones” by their vicars of God,  Pope Francis has called a meeting of Bishops, for February, 2019. 

This Blogger considers Jean Genet one of the great dramatists of the 20^th Century, on par with Pirandello, Pinter, and Brecht. This Blogger considers THE BALCONY and THE MAIDS flat out masterpieces, but masterpieces of the Théâtre de la Cruauté( the Theter of Cruelty). 

He never won a Nobel Prize for Literature. 

Perhaps because of his checkered background; he was a thief, a criminal, a convict, a male prostitute and a pimp. 

To top it off, Genet had an ungodly obsession with the Roman Catholic Church; when Jean Paul Sartre wrote his famous essay on Genet, he called it SAINT GENET. 

VATICAN II, the great Catholic Council was televised in Europe; during VATICAN II, Genet set up shop at a Parisian café, at an outdoor table. He placed a television on his table, and invited bystanders to watch the proceedings with him,as he offered commentary. 

The highlight of his day was pointing out which of the bishops on screen were gay. 

Genet was a master of the dynamics of role playing. 

He was once asked:”How would you change the makeup of the Catholic priesthood? 

His answer was: Eliminate the theater in the Mass, eliminate all the fancy robes, and the red shoes, and the stunning Episcopal attire of the Cardinals.  Genet thought the clothes and the theater were the factors which lured the corrupt into the Church’s priesthood. In his opinion, the corrupt have a need to role play more than the non corrupt, so eliminate the trappings of role playing. 

He was duly mocked by the intellectual class. 

This Blogger held Genet’s solution in disdain, until he came across a tidbit about the post-World War II German Army. In 1955, General Eisenhower was President of the United States; he had been Commander of the Allied forces which had landed on the beaches of Normandy, against the German Army,on D-DAY. 

The West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer came to him, and asked him to approve a new German Army, the Bundeswehr, to take the place of the defeated Nazi Army. 

General Eisenhower agreed, with one caveat. He told Adenauer he would not allow custom tailored uniforms in the new German Army; Eisenhower did not want men to join the army just because of the appeal of the uniform. 

Eisenhower thought the Nazi era Army  uniforms had an attraction to men with the gene of inhumane killing. 

This Blogger believes that Genet understood that the fancy dress in excess,  of the Roman Catholic Church held an ungodly attraction for pedophiles. 

Eisenhower and Genet knew about the irrational atavism, beyond the scope of sociology, which lurks in the primordial souls of men. 

Some of this Blogger’s Roman Catholic friends are eschatological. They believe that this collapse of elemental decency in the Church is caused by higher forces, namely that the collapse of internal decency in the Church  is in tune with Pope Francis being THE LAST POPE. 

St Malachy, in the 12th Century AD, predicted that Pope Francis would be the last Pope 

On January 11, 2011, this Blogger published a Blog on St. Malachy’s Papal Prophecy.

"The Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy, is a list of 112 short phrases in Latin. They purport to describe each of the Roman Catholic popes  beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143) and concluding with the successor of pope Benedict XVI,."

St. Malachy's last words were not too cheery: “…."when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed,and the terrible judge will judge his people. The End." 

"In 1909, while granting an audience, pope Pius X leaned back and closed his eyes. Suddenly he "awoke" and cried out: "What I see is terrifying. To survive, the Roman Catholic Church must stamp out the incessant, generational upon generational, never ending  sexual exploitation of children, youth and innocence. 

For what good is a priest who practices pedophilia? Does any Pope think that any saint will answer any prayer from any pederast priest?

 In his tome, THE CITY OF GOD, St. Augustine recognized the need for "just wars"; there has never been a need, nor will there ever be a need for a justified molestation, or a just child abuse, or a justified pedophilia. The rankest Mafioso thug understands sin better than the French pedophile priest; pedophilia is worse than murder. Some men deserve to get killed; no kid deserves to be molested, or abused or raped.    

 

WHAT IS TO BE DONE? 

 

The first thing Pope Francis must do is demand letters of resignation, from all the Church’s priests, bishops and cardinals, undated. Each priest, bishop and cardinal must then be investigated by a commission of secular investigators. If there is any hint of sexual malfeasance toward the youth of the Church, by any priest, bishop or cardinal, their resignation letters would be dated and accepted. 

 

Then rather than wash the feet of migrants, the Pope should wash the feet of the Church’s victims.  

 

In fact, this Blogger believes that the best damage control Pope Francis can do, for the sake of his Church and his soul, is go full Henry II in repentance. 

 

“On 12 July 1174, Henry II headed to Canterbury, England. Just outside the city he stopped and removed his boots. He walked barefoot through the muddy road, dressed as a pilgrim. He walked through broken shards of pottery, mud and whatever you can imagine on the streets of medieval England in 1174. As he walked he left behind bloody footprints. 

Henry walked 3 miles to Canterbury Cathedral. When he arrived he walked to the shrine of Becket in the crypt of the cathedral. Once there he knelt down in front of Becket’s tomb and commanded the monks to whip him. They were some of the same monks who watched Becket be murdered just three years earlier. By being whipped, in front of Becket’s tomb, by the monks who witnessed the murder, Henry II was spilling his own blood for penance. He received nearly 300 lashing. "

Pedophilia is so pervasive, long lasting and institutionalized in the Roman Catholic Church, it may well be time for Pope Francis to consider blood atonement for the sins of his clergy. 

Henry II was a tough hard warrior; Pope Francis is an old feeble man. Three Hundred lashes would probably kill him; but he should be whipped by the victims of the Church’s clergy, until blood is drawn. This mea culpa should be made before a congregation of the Church’s victims, from all over the world. It should be televised and/or streamed; if the Church wants to charge for advertising, this Blogger sees that as viable, for it is the 21st Century. Advertising is good ;for the Church will need money to pay compensation to the victims. 

Ratings will be astronomical. 

Walking on a personal Via Dolorosa should be the Pope’s option.
